The Pup Stop on Wakefield came about because Cheryl McCleary, Realtor at BHHS Premier Properties
saw an opportunity to give back to the community. This happened during the early days of COVID-19,
and free dog treats were a pretty great way to bring some much-needed smiles.
What started there grew into a series of seasonal fundraisers for some of our wonderful animal rescue groups, with the help of
neighborhood dog moms and generous support of Garden Oaks / Oak Forest community businesses. Holiday photo shoots in the front yard became community events with multiple vendors, raffles, contests, professional photographers and a lot more ... and together we raised money and awareness.
What a great time we've had #givingback and meeting people in the community!
As we begin the New Year, the Pup Stop on Wakefield is returning to its initial form, with treats generously donated by
our wonderful friends at The Doggie Express, whose newly opened retail "barkery" and store at 34th Street and Golf. We welcome you
to come by anytime to The Pup Stop at the corner of Alba and Wakefield, where the treats are always on (and in) the house!
In this holiday season and throughout the year, please consider supporting our rescue partners:
Rescued Pets Movement
Animal Justice League
Houston Cares Animal Rescue
Houston BARC Foundation
Paws for Heroes
We are always excited to welcome new partners, friends and allies to lock arms with The Pup Stop and local charities. To get involved, contact Cheryl McCleary at 832.452.9385 and firstname.lastname@example.org
To the many wonderful people, businesses and organizations who have so generously helped, supported, encouraged, contributed and locked arms with us while we figure out this "Pup Stop" thing ... THANK YOU for joining us on this journey!
Throughout the year, The Pup Stop is proud to partner with and support Houston's amazing dog rescue and animal advocacy groups. We are currently inviting and encouraging support for our dear friends at ThisIsHouston.
